South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA)

SECASA is a specialist sexual assault and family violence service, which provides:

  • Time limited therapeutic interventions and counselling following sexual assault and/or family violence, to victim/survivors and other affected family members

  • 24/7 sexual assault crisis response for people who have been sexually assaulted in the past two weeks, or disclosed past sexual assault for the first time 

  • Assessment and intervention for children and young people with harmful sexual behaviours, and their families

  • Community education and prevention work, including programs in Early Learning Centres, Primary Schools and High schools

  • Secondary consultation

  • Professional training

Sexual Assault and Family Violence Counselling

SECASA offers a free counselling service for people in the South Eastern region of Melbourne, Victoria.


Schools Program

SECASA School programs are an extensive suite of prevention programs delivered by SECASAFV in response to sexual abuse and family violence.


Children, Young People and Families Team

SECASA’s Children, Young People and Families Team provides specialist sexual assault/family violence/harmful sexual behaviour therapeutic interventions for children and young people up to 18 years of age.


Training and Education Programs

SECASA offers a range of community and professional training for those interested in gaining skills and insight into working with people of all genders who have experienced sexual assault and family violence.


Making Rights Reality

Making Rights Reality is a program at the South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA) that provides extra help to adults and children with a disability who have experienced sexual assault or family violence.


Legal Support

SMLS has operated a specialist legal clinic in partnership with the South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault (SECASA) since 1995 and works closely with SECASA counsellors in providing legal advice, assistance and representation to victims/survivors of sexual assault.
